Happy Father’s Day! πŸŒˆπŸ’™

Today, we celebrate all fathers and father figures who lead with love, support, and care.

We honor LGBTQ+ dads, trans dads, adoptive dads, stepdads, chosen family members, and every person who has taken on a fatherly role in someone’s life. Your presence, guidance, and commitment help build stronger families and communities.

We also recognize that Father’s Day can bring a mix of emotions. To those celebrating, remembering, grieving, healing, or navigating complex relationships today, we see you and hold space for your experiences.

Wishing everyone a day filled with love, connection, and pride.

This Pride and Juneteenth, we're thinking about Cora Latz and Etta Perkins, who were a le***an couple who met in 1972 and stayed together until Perkins’ death in 1998. In 1973, they held a commitment ceremony; in 1998, they privately renewed their vows with the staff who cared for them at the Jewish Home for the Aged.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, an important day in American history. On June 19, 1865, around 2,000 Union soldiers arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. This finally brought freedom to over 250,000 enslaved African Americans, two years after President Lincoln had signed it into law.

Juneteenth marks the United States’ second Independence Day and we take this time to hold space for the folks who fought for freedom and the equal rights that later followed.

Happy Juneteenth! β€οΈπŸ–€πŸ’š

Today we celebrate Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

As we honor this important day, we celebrate Black history, resilience, and reaffirm our commitment to equality, justice, and freedom for all. ✨

Endless Mountains Pride simply would not have happened without the dedication, skill, wisdom, and incredible planning ability of our Festival Chair, Kelly Smith. From countless behind-the-scenes details to the joyful energy she brings into every space, Kelly helped make this year’s festival a beautiful celebration of community, inclusion, and Pride.

Thank you, Kelly, for leading with heart, strength, and sparkle. We are so grateful for you! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβœ¨

Endless Mountains Pride President, Father Dan Storrs, had the honor of briefly speaking with Governor Josh Shapiro at the Pennsylvania Reception at the Governor’s Residence on Monday evening.

Father Dan thanked Governor Shapiro for his continued allyship and support of the LGBTQIA+ community across Pennsylvania, and they took a selfie!

Father Dan is grateful to serve as an appointed commissioner on the Pennsylvania Commission on LGBTQ Affairs, where he has the opportunity to help advocate for dignity, equality, and belonging for LGBTQIA+ Pennsylvanians, including those of us living in rural communities.

We are proud to see Endless Mountains Pride represented in these important statewide conversations and events.
