The Martin and Elizabeth Gundersen Trust in Tower, Minnesota, was established in 1992 from proceeds of the sale of forest lands donated by Martin and Elizabeth Gundersen to the city. Its original mission was to provide a steady, predictable source of revenue for the city and its residents, with 75% of annual proceeds going to the city’s general fund and the remaining 25% donated for community education and recreation in the city’s forest lands.

The signs letting people know that it is the law to slow down for pedestrians in the crosswalk are up in the City of Tower! Thank you to those local residents and businesses that helped purchase them through their donations.

These signs were placed mid-block all along Main Street to warn people to slow down early, and also so that the larger vehicles with trailers taking turns would not hit them. They were placed strategically, with MN Dot weighing in on their placement, and they should NOT be moved by anyone other than City staff.

Should you see someone ignoring the signs and not yielding to pedestrians in the crosswalk, or if you see someone other than City of Tower staff moving them, please contact local law enforcement.

If you have questions, concerns, kudos to share, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. Thank you!
