Old Bio One of the most historic academic buildings on the Colgate Campus. In 1906, an addition was added, and biology became the building's focus.

Built in 1884 as the first building dedicated on the Colgate (then Madison) University Campus to physics and chemistry. In the 1970s, the building was neglected in favor of the new Olin Life Sciences building. Almost destroyed, students banded together to perserve its place on the campus. Then home to fine arts, Old Bio or presently Hascall Hall houses religion and philosophy, and very soon just p

hilosophy. Seen as a technological innovation when built in the study and harnessing of nature, Old Bio was seen as a great accomplishment. However, as time progressed, Old Bio was almost lost to the forces that created it.
