Hamilton Area Community Coalition We are committed and will actively work toward sustaining and strengthening a community environment supportive of safe and healthy behaviors.

It is the vision of the HACC to actively educate and encourage the Hamilton community to recognize the impact of alcohol and other drug abuse on our youth which negatively impacts healthy lifestyles and a vibrant community. This will be accomplished by delaying and/or reducing alcohol and other drug use by our community members through collaboration, implementing strategies and solutions related

to education, enforcement, reduction, science-based prevention programs, and proven environmental strategies. We who live, work and care about youth in the Hamilton area will target alcohol and other drug abuse through effective, coordinated and sustainable action."

Happy October! It’s Friday and we, HACC, are beginning a new year! Our Coalition is taking this year to do some great and wonderful work in our community, as well as some reorganization—as some of you may not know, we are no longer associated with BRiDGES of Madison County, headquartered in Oneida, NY.

Although our beloved Melissa Cassulis Smith is no longer with us, we will carry on with her spirit and enthusiasm for the work she has done by continuing her vision for this community and the people in it. Our coalition, although unfunded for this year will be working hard to make sure our children continue to be healthy, happy and drug-free.

WE ARE STILL HERE...in Hamilton and committed in doing the work we have done for the past five years and hopefully for many, many more. Our new website will be up and running soon. As a reminder, you can contact us through our FB page, in the meanwhile—or by emailing [email protected]

We will be sharing our RED RIBBON WEEK promotions soon and hope you are all keeping well and healthy throughout this past month of school. Stay focused on being the best you can be—and can’t wait to be able to be together soon!

We would like to welcome back the students, teachers and staff at Hamilton Central School! Fall 2020 will be a challenge for you all and we, at HACC will not be able to show how much we care in our normal style with the Back To School Bash this year...however, plans are being discussed on how we can all celebrate TOGETHER as soon as we are allowed.

For now...stay SAFE...be HAPPY....HEALTHY and DRUG-FREE!

Much like all business and organizations during the pandemic, we are staying home and working to continue our outreach remotely. We urge you to be patient and stay home. If you are experiencing anxiety or other mental issues, reach out to professionals to help you through this time. We value and want you to remain HAMILTON STRONG! As well as happy, healthy and drug-free. We will get through this together.
