Memorial Update!

During this past summer, I was excited when it came time to break ground. Now, construction is officially finished and I am more then happy with the results.

Tomorrow, I will be unavailing the memorial and turning it over to VFW Post 3792. Hope to see all that can make it!

Construction Update!

A moment I have been waiting for since the start of this project has finally taken place. Earlier last week, the monument was placed in the memorial's center. This has been a year-long process and the work I have put into it has finally paid off.

After nonstop fundraising efforts and design revisions, I was finally able to install the memorial's centerpiece. With the addition of spotlights, the monument looks even better at night!

All of this would NOT be possible without the help of Sartin Memorials and the support of individual donors.

Thanks again,
Logan A.

Volunteers needed!

This coming Sunday (08/27), I will be installing a flowerbed within the memorial. In order to make this possible, I am using volunteers to help plant flowers and bushes. Currently, I'm still looking for volunteers. Construction will be done under the supervision of a scout leader.

Construction Update!

Last Sunday, close to 20 volunteers assisted with the first day of brick installation. With this help, we were able to accomplish two days of work in one! Because of this great turnout, I am canceling the second construction date this coming Sunday (08/06).

I would like to thank everyone who was willing to volunteer their time. Enjoy your weekend!

More progress has been made!

Today, we were able to finish installing brick pavers. This would not be possible without the help of volunteers and The Brick Doctor Inc. I would like to give a huge shout out to BSA Troop 252 from Newark for willing to help out another troop.

It was exciting to see over a hundred engraved pavers installed at the memorial’s entrance. Landscaping work was also started around the memorial and within the flowerbed.

The next step is to place the monument…

Volunteers needed!

During the next two Sundays, I will be installing brick pavers within the memorial. In order to make this possible, I am using volunteers to help lay bricks.

Currently, I'm still looking for volunteers. So far, I have some scout members involved with the build. Construction will be done under the supervision of an industry expert and a scout leader. If you are interested or know someone that is, please sign up using the link below:

Construction Update!

During this past week, concrete was installed for the memorial's foundation and walkways. The walkways use expose aggregate concrete to provide more color.

Eventually, brick pavers will be placed on top of the lower sections of concrete. The last part of construction would be some landscaping (such as the flowerbed).

This project is more than halfway done!

Memorial Update!

Last Thursday, excavation began for the construction of the memorial's foundation. The area was first dug out before placing a stone base. This base will provide the support necessary for exposed aggregate concrete.

The hole found in the center is where the granite monument will be placed. The monument will be placed on top of a concrete foundation. By next week, concrete will have been poured. The next step is to place brick pavers.

After two years, it is very exciting to see this project in development. More updates are to come!

A new milestone has been reached!

After more than a year of fundraising, I have officially secured the costs of this memorial. As of this month, the project has raised close to $19,000. A majority of this funding comes from the Brick Program. Since March of 2022, the program has sold over 150 custom brick pavers. The remaining portion of funding includes monetary donations made outside the program.

Over two years ago, I began working on this project. It first started out as an idea on paper. With the number of setbacks I have endured, I would have never thought that this idea would come to fruition. None of this would be possible without the support of the people I have met throughout my journey.

I want to thank everyone who has helped me progress forward, including active supporters as well as donators.
