Happy Birthday America!
In honor of America’s 250th birthday, the Townsend River Walk and Arboretum (TRWA) volunteers added two trees to the arboretum, a Shagbark Hickory and Yellowwood. These trees were purchased from the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants bringing a part of Thomas Jefferson's legacy to the TRWA. The addition of these trees brings the total number of TRWA Arboretum trees to 55!

Here is the center piece of our Nature Learning/Storytelling Center. It is an incredible storytelling chair. Imagine sharing a story with your children or grandchildren while seated on this incredibly carved chair. Donated by Capt. Dave Lavoie of Little River Artistry in Townsend.

We need to put it under roof and that requires the materials for the Gazebo we are planning. Labor is all volunteer but we need to cover material costs.

We are more than half way to our $15,000 Fundraising Goal. If half Facebook followers just contribute $10. We will reach our goal by next week. This project is the culmination of or 5 year plan and will set up the Townsend River Walk & Arboretum as a real Nature Learning Center. We also want to thank the generous contributions we have received to date of Approx. $8,000! Thanks so much for the support.
