Here at the Sons of The American Legion National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, the Detachment of Maryland was honored to receive the Harry W. Colmery Legacy Award for the 2025–2026 program year.

This award recognizes the Detachment of Maryland for its outstanding support of The American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation and for being the number one Detachment in total contributions in support of the Foundation’s Children & Youth and Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation programs.

While our Maryland Delegation had the honor of accepting this award, this recognition belongs to our Squadrons and members throughout Maryland who made it possible.

This is just one example of what we can accomplish when we work collectively — as Squadrons, as a Detachment, and as members of The American Legion Family — toward a common purpose.

To every Maryland Squadron and every member who contributed, raised funds, supported an event, or helped advance this important mission: THANK YOU. You should be proud of what you do and the difference you continue to make.

Congratulations, Maryland! This achievement belongs to all of you. 🇺🇸

Together we continue to be, “Sons Honoring Veterans Everyday”

Thank you again for all you do…
