COTA for Mighty Mare

COTA for Mighty Mare Have you heard of Cystic Fibrosis? CF is a disease that builds up mucus in the lungs and makes it hard to breathe. Mariana has lived with CF her entire life.

The Towson community COTA page to raise money for the Children's Organ Transplant Association in honor of Mariana, a Towson student in need of her second double lung transplant. It is considered an orphan disease, which means that not enough people are affected by it for the government to consider it worth funding. In 2014 Mariana received a double lung transplant due to complications from her CF,

and due to recent changes in her health, she's going to need another lung transplant. The Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) helps children and young adults who need a life-saving transplant by providing fundraising assistance and family support. COTA is the nation’s only fundraising organization solely dedicated to raising life-saving dollars in honor of transplant-needy children and young adults. 100% of each contribution made to COTA will be donated in honor of Mariana to help meet transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are free to families, and gifts to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
