Indiana agriculture got a win in Washington.

The House passed the 2027 Agriculture funding bill, which supports ag research, strengthens rural development, and reins in regulations that make it harder to farm.

Indiana farmers help feed our country. We need to make sure Washington has their back.

I joined our Shelbyville Mobile Office Hours last week to hear directly from constituents about the issues on their minds.

My team and I are here to listen, answer questions, and help Hoosiers cut through federal paperwork when they need it.

Hoosiers should know what medical care costs before the bill arrives.

I met with Indiana Department of Health’s Secretary of Health and Family Services, Gloria Sachdev, to discuss healthcare affordability, price transparency, more competition, and giving families greater control over their healthcare decisions.

Indiana is helping lead the way. I’m glad to be part of the push.

It’s a good day to be a Hoosier in Washington.

Indiana University opened its Capital Campus last night in our nation’s capital. As an IU alum, it was fun to help celebrate this milestone. The new campus opens doors for Hoosier students who want to study, serve, and build careers in Washington.

Go Hoosiers!

Last week in , I visited with seniors at Mill Race Center in Columbus for National Senior Health and Fitness Day.

I lent a hand on a puzzle, heard what’s on their minds, and saw the important work Mill Race Center does to keep older Hoosiers active, connected, and engaged.

Indiana corn powers more than you think.

Last week, I toured Cardinal Ethanol in Union City, where Hoosier corn is turned into fuel-grade ethanol used in E15. That’s American energy made right here in Randolph County.

The House recently passed the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act to allow year-round E15 sales. I supported it because it’s good for corn farmers, good for Hoosier energy, and good for drivers looking for a lower-cost option at the pump.

I toured Clarity Care in Columbus, a not-for-profit serving women and families across our community.

Their team supports expectant mothers with prenatal care, counseling, parenting courses, and other resources — all at no cost.

Families facing big decisions should not have to face them alone. Clarity Care helps make sure they don’t.

The fatal shooting of Brett Scrogham is heartbreaking and outrageous.

Brett was a recent IU-Indy graduate with a bright future ahead of him. He was headed to an Indians game with his family when his life was taken.

Families should be able to park downtown, walk to a ballgame, and come home safely. Public safety has to be the first responsibility of city leadership.

My heart and prayers are with Brett’s family and friends.

Horrific update to this breaking news we reported on Thursday.

The young man shot in the parking garage near the convention center has died.

The Marion County coroner confirms 23-year-old Brett Scrogham died from his injuries.

Multiple sources have told us and I have confirmed through IU’s online records that Scrogham recently graduated from IU’s Kelley School of Business and was named one of the top in his class.

Multiple sources also tell me that Brett was parking in the garage downtown near the convention center to attend the Indians game with his family when he was shot.

We have reached out to IMPD to see if an arrest has been made in this case and we are still waiting to hear back.

Thursday’s reporting is here:

BREAKING: we are headed to a person shot at or near the convention center in downtown Indianapolis.

IMPD responded to shots fired in the 100 block of S Capitol Avenue at 6:10. The 911 call came back to the address of 101 S Capitol Avenue.

Police found the person shot and in critical condition.

IMPD detained a person on scene.

An eyewitness tells me he was entering the parking garage at Maryland and Capitol from the PNC/Hyatt building where he works when he heard a gunshot. He says he saw a glimpse of someone running down from the third floor toward the ground floor.

He said he drove up a floor so be could leave, and saw a suspicious man standing, peaking around the corner with two backpacks and then running down the second floor.

I visited Trafalgar this week to announce that more than $1 million I requested for long-needed water infrastructure improvements has been included in an Appropriations bill.

It's as small, fast-growing Johnson Co community. Their water system had served the community for decades, but it’s time for the infrastructure to keep pace with growth.

Clean water and reliable infrastructure aren’t optional. I’ll keep working to get this funding over the finish line.

In Shelbyville with Major General Larry Muennich to announce $27.5 million secured for a new aviation maintenance hangar at the Army Aviation Support Facility.

900 Indiana Guardsmen serve out of this facility, supporting the aircraft that help keep our state ready at a moment’s notice. This funding delivers a modern facility built for the mission they carry out today and for years to come.

Our Indiana National Guard protects every corner of Indiana. I’m grateful to stand with them.
