Don’t want to follow our district page once this page is deactivated? We understand.

You’re interested in information and updates about Lost Creek Lake and/or William L. Jess Dam. That’s why you followed this page in the first place.

Following a new page just puts more content in your feed that you’re not asking for. We get it.

That’s why we’re designating a hashtag for you to follow instead.

Once this page is turned off, any posts about Lost Creek Lake or Jess Dam published to our Portland District USACE page () will include the hashtag .

Clicking or tapping on that hashtag will show you only posts related to Lost Creek Lake/Jess Dam—updates and content that would have been posted on our Lost Creek Lake page.

We realize this isn’t a perfect solution.

It's our attempt to align with a new Department of the Army directive to consolidate our social media presence (more on that in the comments, in case you missed that announcement) while working within the limitations of Facebook.

We appreciate your patience and your feedback.

Please understand that while this page will soon be turned off, our team will always be here for you as we have in the past.

To align with new guidance from the Department of the Army intended to streamline and strengthen official communications by consolidating social media presences, we will be archiving and deactivating this page no later than Feb. 28.

We realize this may come as a disappointment to those of you who depend on this page for updates about Lost Creek Lake and William L. Jess Dam. We will continue to share the same information you’ve followed this page for over the years (recreation closures, reservoir updates, hazard and safety notices, etc.) on our district page: Portland District, US Army Corps of Engineers.

Thank you for the support and interaction you’ve given us here. We are grateful to you, and we remain committed to delivering the same quality of service to you that we always have—at the dam and our recreation areas, and here on Facebook.
