Over the past three years, volunteering has helped her step outside her comfort zone, connect with others, and find her voice. From helping families through the food pantry to supporting neighbors in need, Briana has discovered the power of community and her place within it.

Our team and Advisory Board would like to send our heartfelt gratitude to Robert & Pauline Young for their generous donation of $20,000 from their Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation Robert and Pauline Young Family Endowment to The Salvation Army Traverse City corps supporting our various programs that assist almost 30,000 people annually.

FREE FOOD MARKET AND COMMUNITY LUNCH TODAY, 12-1 pm, at our Community Center on the corner of Boon and Barlow in Traverse City!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are in need of Food Market volunteers to help on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 am to 1:30 pm: set up, work market, tear down market. Fun and rewarding work to help us feed our neighbors in need!

HAPPY NATIONAL DONUT DAY!! 🍩

The Salvation Army Traverse City team members, Advisory Board members, and volunteers headed out this morning to deliver 52 dozen donuts to local fire stations, police stations, central dispatch/911 centers, law enforcement/EMS buildings in Grand Traverse, Benzie and Leelanau counties this morning. 🍩🍩🍩

A HUGE THANK YOU TO Meijer AND Oleson's Food Stores FOR DONUTING A TOTAL OF 52 DOZEN DONUTS!

We do this to thank and acknowledge our emergency workers for their dedication and service to help keep us all safe! ♥️🙏

Many people do not know about the history of Donut Day: It was created in 1938 by The Salvation Army to celebrate the “Donut Lassies” who fried and served donuts to troops on the front lines in World War 1 to bring them comfort and a reminder of HOME and HOPE! ♥️

National Donut Day 🍩 happens on the first Friday in June every year thanks to The Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies! ♥️🙏

The Salvation Army Traverse City has served on the front lines in Grand Traverse County since 1894 caring for people in our community who are struggling! ♥️
