Precision. Proficiency. Readiness.

An MH-60 Jayhawk from Air Station Traverse City during routine training over Northern Michigan.

The hours spent training help ensure crews are ready when lives depend on it.

As you head out on the water this season, wear your life jacket, file a float plan, and make safety part of every trip.

Today, the United States Coast Guard joins the entire Nation in honoring the brave men and women across all branches of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Whether on land, at sea, in the air, or in space, those who gave their lives in defense of our freedoms share a unified legacy of courage, service, and devotion. On this Memorial Day, we remember our fallen heroes in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.

We stand with their families, loved ones, and communities today and always. The weight of their sacrifice spans across every branch, and their memories will never be forgotten.

National Safe Boating Week may be ending, but boating season is just getting started in northern Michigan. ⚓️

Before you leave the dock this weekend, remember one simple thing: stay alert and keep full visibility while operating your vessel. 🛟

Busy waterways, cold water, changing weather, paddlers, anglers, and holiday traffic all share the water here. 🛟

Day 2 of National Safe Boating Week ⚓

Today’s reminder: Use your ECOS (Engine Cut-Off Switch).

That small safety cord can shut the engine down if the operator falls overboard, helping prevent runaway boats and serious injuries.

Clip in before leaving the dock.

⚓ National Safe Boating Week is underway, and today’s reminder is simple but critical:

Wear your life jacket.

Cold water, changing conditions, and unexpected falls can turn serious fast on Northern Michigan waters — even for experienced boaters and paddlers.

A properly fitted life jacket gives you time, protection, and a much better chance of making it home safely.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Traverse City Flotilla encourages everyone heading out on the water this season to wear it, not just carry it.

Tomorrow is Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day. ⚓

Here in northern Michigan, cold Great Lakes water can still be dangerous — even on warm spring days. A life jacket can buy you critical time and save your life.

Whether you’re headed to the office, marina, coffee shop, or out on the water, wear your life jacket tomorrow and help spread the boating safety message before summer boating season begins.

Post your photo and tag us — we’d love to see northern Michigan participate.
