🇺🇸 Happy Coast Guard Day! 🇺🇸

During a Search and Rescue (SAR) demonstration hosted by the Grand Traverse Yacht Club, U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City showcased the training, precision, and teamwork required to carry out its lifesaving mission.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary 26-10 was proud to support the event with an Auxiliary boat crew providing on-water safety throughout the demonstration.

Today we celebrate 250 years of American independence and the freedoms that unite us. 🇺🇸

As you head out to enjoy Northern Michigan’s lakes and waterways, help make this holiday a safe one by wearing a life jacket, using your engine cutoff switch, and boating responsibly.

From all of us at U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 26-10, have a safe and happy Fourth of July as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday!

250 years of American pride and tradition. Our Founding Fathers fought for the ideals that they wanted for a country of the people. Alexander Hamilton, founder of what would become the United States Coast Guard, and many others fought wars and political battles for the country we know and love today.

We celebrate this day like only Americans know how, with cookouts, fireworks, and boating. While we spend time on the water enjoying the freedoms we have from our Founding Fathers, let's remember to be safe, wear a life jacket, and use the engine cutoff switch. Happy Birthday to the United States of America, and many more to come.

July is Sun Safe Boating Month, and it’s also a great reminder of another important message: boat sober.

Whether you’re spending the day on Grand Traverse Bay or one of Northern Michigan’s many lakes, keep it simple:

🦺 Wear your life jacket.
☀️ Protect yourself from the sun.
💧 Stay hydrated.
🚤 Never operate a boat under the influence.

Have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July weekend from your local U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

See you there! 🍒 🚁

Guests can chat with the skilled pilots and crew, hearing firsthand about their flying experiences, the details of operating these aircraft, and the extensive training that goes into it.

Admission is free and open to everyone! Just note that security protocols will be in place, so plan to arrive early and allow time for a brief screening at the entrance.
