Community Officer MaKenzie Kreiner recently wrapped up the TEAM (Teaching, Empowerment, and Mentoring) program at Cherry Knoll Elementary and received this wonderful thank-you poster from students.

Over nine weeks, students participated in lessons covering bullying prevention, personal safety, fire safety, gun safety, laws and rules, and making positive choices. The TEAM program helps students build important life skills and encourages responsible decision-making.

Join the PoP (Power of Produce) Program at the East Bay Corners Farmers Market this summer!

Designed for ages 5–13, this weekly program combines fun and learning with hands-on activities focused on food, gardening, animals, nutrition, and science. Kids even earn $4 market coupons to shop the market after participating.

Thursdays from 4:30–5:30 PM
July 2 – September 24, 2026
Come grow, explore, learn, and play with us this summer!

Deputy Rosin, K-9 Kalo, and Community Officer MaKenzie Kreiner recently visited Grand Traverse Academy to give students a firsthand look at the important role K-9 teams play in law enforcement.

Students watched as Kalo demonstrated his training, discipline, and ability to respond to commands, showcasing the strong partnership between handler and K-9. The presentation also gave students an opportunity to learn more about careers in law enforcement and ask questions about the work deputies do to keep our community safe.

Thank you to Grand Traverse Academy for welcoming us and providing this opportunity to connect with students. Community outreach programs like these help build understanding, trust, and positive relationships with the next generation.

East Bay Township’s Planning & Zoning staff had the opportunity to join Senator Elissa Slotkin and TART Trails for a ride this week to discuss the future of regional trail connectivity.

The conversation highlighted East Bay Township’s ongoing work to connect residents to more than 100 miles of trails through the Three Mile Trail and Safe Routes to School initiatives.

Thank you, Senator Slotkin, for taking the time to learn about East Bay’s collaborative efforts and experience all that Grand Traverse County has to offer!

Returning your application for absentee ballot is easy and secure in East Bay Township. Voters can return completed ballots using secure drop boxes at Township Hall or at Fire Station #9, located at 110 High Lake Road.

At the Township Hall, voters may use the convenient drive-up drop box along the sidewalk, monitored with 24-hour camera surveillance, or hand-deliver applications to the Clerk’s service counter during office hours.

All ballot drop boxes are regularly checked to ensure ballot applications and completed ballots are collected promptly and securely.
