Shortly before 9 this morning, the Tremont Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire, along with our mutual aid partners. After three hours of work, the structure was deemed a total loss. This marks the second structure fire in a week's time that has resulted in a total loss within our district. We urge everyone to exercise vigilance in fire safety during the holiday season, checking their smoke detectors, which proved instrumental in saving the lives of a family from a fire last Friday. In closing, I would like to extend our gratitude to Fulton, Northeast, Ryan's, and Tilden for their support during these fires. To the residents of our district, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
