WATER AND SEWER RATE CHANGES

The Village Board approved the following rate changes effective for May 1st, 2026, usage and billed June 1, 2026.

Water rates: $19.14 for the first 1,000 gallons and $8.95 for each additional 1,000 gallons.

Sewer rates: $20.42 for the first 1,000 gallons and $7.97 for each additional 1,000 gallons.

NEW MINIMUM MONTHLY BILL: $49.56

Stop by the Village Hall between 10am and 1pm tomorrow to speak with a member of State Senator Sally Turner’s office staff! She will be available to answer questions and discuss state services.

🚗 Traveling Office Hours are making their way to Tremont on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026! 🚗

While Senator Sally Turner is in Springfield attending session, her district office staff will be on-site to assist with questions about state services, as well as gather input about state activities and legislation.

Community Notice: Fuel Surcharge Update for Garbage Services

The Village would like to take this opportunity to inform our residents about an upcoming change related to our village garbage collection services that will take effect with the April quarterly billing cycle.

Per the terms of our current waste collection contract with GFL, a fuel surcharge will be applied when diesel fuel prices exceed $4.50 per gallon for a period of thirty (30) consecutive days (based on Midwest PADD 2 pricing). As this threshold has been met, a 10% fuel surcharge will be added to the current service rate.

Please note:
- The surcharge is directly tied to fuel costs and is not permanent.
-If diesel fuel prices fall to $4.50 per gallon or below for thirty (30) consecutive days, the surcharge will be removed.

We understand that any increase in costs can be impactful. We appreciate your understanding as this adjustment is based on the contractual agreement we have with GFL, and is being made in light of recent fuel price increases across the country.
