🚒🔥 Last night at 1930 our members alongside Cove City Vol. Fire Department were dispatched for mutual aid to the area of Hyman Rd. with No. 9 Township Fire and Rescue - Station 35 for a reported shed fire. Crews worked together to quickly extinguish the fire.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our neighboring departments and support each other when the call comes in. 🚒🔥

🔥 Last night, our department was dispatched to a reported structure fire after a home was believed to have been struck by lightning in Trent Woods.

Upon arrival, crews found smoke showing from the structure and immediately went to work. Firefighters quickly located and extinguished the fire while checking for any extension to help prevent further damage. Thanks to the quick response and teamwork of everyone on scene, the incident was brought under control safely.

We would like to thank City of New Bern Fire-Rescue and No. 7 Township Fire Rescue for their assistance and professionalism throughout the incident. Strong partnerships like these help ensure the best possible outcome for our community.

Lightning can cause hidden fires, even when there are no visible flames. If your home is struck by lightning, don’t take any chances. Call 911 and have it checked.

🚒 Hydrant Maintenance Notice 🚒

Our members will be out this evening performing routine fire hydrant maintenance throughout our district.

During this time, you may notice firefighters working around hydrants or see brief periods of discolored water. If your water appears rusty or cloudy, simply run the cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

This routine maintenance helps ensure our hydrants are ready when they’re needed most.

Yesterday, a few of our members had the privilege of assisting our brothers and sisters at No. 7 Township Fire Rescue in escorting one of their own home after spending the past four months in Chapel Hill recovering from a lung transplant.

The fire service is more than a profession, it’s a family. We were honored to be a part of this special homecoming and are thankful to see our brother back where he belongs. We wish him continued strength, healing, and the very best as he continues his recovery.
