🚨🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT — TAYLOR COUNTY 🔥🚨

Taylor County is currently under a Burn Ban.

With dry conditions and increased wildfire potential, we urge everyone to use extreme caution and refrain from outdoor burning.

🚫 No brush piles or trash burning
🚫 No unauthorized outdoor burning
⚠️ Avoid activities that could create sparks or ignite dry vegetation

A small fire can quickly become a large wildfire. Please help protect our homes, land, firefighters, and communities by not burning while the ban is in effect.

🔥 If you see a fire, call 911 immediately.

🚨 TRAFFIC UPDATE 🚨

All Trent Volunteer Fire Department units are now back in service.

The scene has been turned over to TxDOT, DPS, and the cleanup crews, who are finishing operations.

🚧 Westbound I-20 has been reopened.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and for giving first responders the space they needed to work safely.

🚨 TRAFFIC UPDATE 🚨

Interstate 20 Update:

✅ Eastbound I-20 has reopened and traffic is moving.

🚧 Westbound I-20 remains closed at this time. Officials expect it to reopen within the next 30–45 minutes, barring any unforeseen delays.

Please continue to use caution when traveling through the area, watch for emergency personnel and equipment, and expect delays until the roadway is fully reopened.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and will provide additional updates as they become available.

🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

Interstate 20 is impacted by a vehicle wreck near the eastern Nolan County line, just before the Taylor County line.

Current traffic conditions:
• Westbound I-20: Fully blocked
• Eastbound I-20: Reduced to one lane

Motorists traveling through the area should expect significant delays and seek an alternate route if possible.

Please slow down, stay alert, watch for emergency personnel, and avoid the area until the roadway is cleared.

We will provide updates as more information becomes available

The Nolan County Commissioners Court has lifted the county-wide burn ban, effective immediately.

Residents may resume outdoor burning, but are urged to continue exercising caution and to follow all applicable safety guidelines.
