Please be advised that changes are being made to the North Carolina Authorized Product List (APL) to help ensure that all eligible participants can be served throughout the current Federal Fiscal Year. The changes are not related to the federal government shutdown. They are designed to preserve the nutritional integrity of the WIC food package.

Effective November 1, 2025, North Carolina WIC will be making the following APL changes:

• Organic Foods:
o No longer allowed for the following categories:
 Breakfast Cereal
 Cheese
 Eggs
 Fish
 Juice
 Legumes
 Milk, Soy-Based Beverages, Tofu and Yogurt
 Peanut Butter
 Whole Wheat Bread and Other Whole Grains
o Still allowed for:
 Fruits and Vegetables (canned, fresh, frozen)
 Infant Foods (fruits, vegetables, meat, and cereal)
• Eggs:
o Only Grade A, Large, White eggs will be approved
