I would like to say a special thank you to the Milan VFW Post 4780 and Hannah Blurton for inviting me to be one of the judges for the Voice of Democracy Essay Contest and the Patriots Pen Contest again this year. To read so many briliant essays from our local youth has been such a blessing and honor. Congratulations to all the winners advancing from local competitions to the next level and hopefully on to State Competitions. A very special thank you for honoring me as well at the local and district awards luncheons held for the participants, it is always enjoyable and meaningful to visit our local Veteran Organizations.

🇺🇸 Veterans Day 🇺🇸

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13 (KJV)

Today we pause to honor every man and woman who has worn our nation’s uniform.
Your courage, sacrifice, and steadfast love of country reflect the very heart of service that Scripture calls noble and good.

We thank God for you—past, present, and future—and we pray His protection and peace over every veteran and family who has borne the cost of freedom.

“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

From all of us at Victory 93.7 FM, thank you for defending what is right and keeping faith with freedom. 🇺🇸💙

A big thank you to the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department Court Deputies for all they do in our court system.

These men and women work hard every single day to keep our courtrooms secure and running smoothly. Their dedication often goes unseen, but it is deeply appreciated. From managing the flow of cases to ensuring safety for everyone who walks through the doors, they carry a responsibility that is vital to justice in Gibson County.

We are grateful for your professionalism, your hard work, and the steady presence you bring to the courtroom.

Thank you for serving our community with honor.

3 years today. Thank you, Gibson County, for letting me serve!

⚖️ 3 Years of Service ⚖️

It’s hard to believe, but September 1 marks three years since I was sworn in as your General Sessions Judge in Gibson County. Time has moved quickly, but the work has been meaningful.

In these three years, we’ve expanded Recovery Court and Veterans Court, giving more people the tools to rebuild their lives. We’ve grown the Choices & Consequences program to reach more students this year than in the previous two years combined. And we are laying the groundwork for a Mental Health Court, because we know the need is real.

This role is not just a position to me — it’s a calling. Each day, I walk into the courtroom determined to make it fair, efficient, and accessible for everyone who comes before it. My promise is to treat each person with dignity and respect, no matter their circumstances.

I truly love this job. I love this county. And I am grateful every single day for the trust you’ve placed in me. We are doing good work together, and there is still more ahead. Thank you, Gibson County, for letting me serve.

Also, I want to thank my staff, Angie Partee, Angie Duck, Jody Smith and Mike Scott. This is a team effort and they work hard every day.

We had the privilege to travel to West Memphis, Arkansas to visit and tour The Haven Detox Center, a brand new dual diagnosis facility for Veterans that are struggling. This Center was absolutely fantastic, the care, compassion and attention to every detail was remarkable. The Center has a “Home” feel, reminding our Veterans they are cared for and most of all, in a safe space to heal. We always learn so much when we speak Kalei McDonald, Mike Urban and Olin Morris. They go above and beyond to protect and advocate for our Service Men and Women. We are grateful for the opportunity to network, learn, and collaborate to offer the best opportunities for our Veteran Court Participants.
