Upward Bound-NCMC Established at NCMC in 1999! College Prep Program providing services to 6 area high schools-Academic and Summer Component! Department of Education.

Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's de

gree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education. The Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. TRIO programs include: EOC, McNair, SSS, Talent Search, UB, UB-Math and Science, Veterans UB, and Training program for Federal TRIO Programs Staff. These programs are 100% funded by the U.S. Our Upward Bound program is located on the campus of North Central Missouri College. We serve 6 high schools (Trenton R9, Tri-County, Chillicothe, Penney High, Brookfield and Gallatin). North Central Missouri College will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. This closing includes all campuses, buildings, and offices at the Main, Barton, and Savannah Campus locations. No in-person classes will be held. The Ketcham Community Center will also be closed.
