The State of New Jersey announced a contest calling for videos that show why YOU are getting vaccinated and encourage others to do the same.
COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and protect you from getting sick. We all know that to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we need to protect ourselves and our loved ones by getting vaccinated. Your videos can make a difference to help others get vaccinated.
Several videos will be chosen as finalists to be voted on by the public. The winner will be used in the State of New Jersey's COVID-19 public health campaign. Deadline for submission: May 11.
For more information about the video contest, check out covid19.nj.gov/yourvoice

Introducing the NJ Ballot Bowl High School Division

The NJ Ballot Bowl is a statewide program initiative of the NJ Department of State that is collegiate competition to determine which college can register the highest number of students to vote. Project 555 is a student-led, non-partisan voter registration and education initiative focusing on High School seniors throughout the state.

This year's pilot program is accepting 10 high schools and there are still 4 slots left! If your High School is interested in joining the competition, please complete this google form https://go.project555.org/ballot-bowl-HS_application and reach out to [email protected] for any questions.

Rowena Madden, who leads New Jersey's AmeriCorps program as Director of the New Jersey Governor's Office of Volunteerism, was honored last night at the Excellence in AmeriCorps virtual ceremony with the Lifetime of Service Award. We are proud to serve the people of New Jersey alongside Rowena!

Earlier this evening, the Corporation for National and Community Service's AmeriCorps Program held their 2020 Excellence in AmeriCorps Virtual Awards Ceremony.

We are delighted to announce that our very own Rowena Madden was the recipient of the very first Lifetime of Service Award!

The award was presented to her by the Corporation’s CEO Barbara Stewart and recognizes an individual who has devoted their life to service and is a leader in the national service field.

Rowena has dedicated her career to advancing civic engagement, volunteering, and national service. Her five decades of public service and quarter century at the helm of the NJ Commission on National and Community Service exemplify the ideals of servant leadership and service above self.

The NJ Governor’s Office of Volunteerism and NJ’s National Service Programs extend their heartfelt congratulations for your dedication to service throughout all these years. An award well deserved!

Today is the 233rd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. NJ sent 5 delegates to the constitutional convention - David Brearley, Jonathan Dayton, William Livingston, William Paterson, and William Houston (who was unable to sign the final document due to illness).

After the document was signed at the convention in Philadelphia, copies were sent to the individual states. New Jersey's ratification convention approved the founding charter in only 6 days, and became the 3rd state to ratify the U.S. Constitution on December 18,1787.

The State Archives holds the convention's minutes and New Jersey's copy of the United States Constitution. You can view them here with full transcription: https://nj.gov/state/archives/docusconstitution.html #constitutionday #Njhistory
