There has been an increase of Theft from Auto in the past month, including the theft of license plates. Unknown suspects have been taking license plates and putting them on stolen vehicles. The stolen vehicles with plates are then being used in crimes. These thefts can be very inconvenient to the vehicle owner as not only will you be required to deal with NJMVC to get new plates, but also make court appearances, where a crime or traffic violation has been committed by the vehicle utilizing their plates. Residents should make all possible attempts to properly secure their license plates and if possible take it a step further by using tamper proof screws.

We also advise you do not leave your vehicle unattended. Leaving your car unattended or unlocked is an open invitation to car thieves. We understand there are push-to-start vehicles, but it is still very easy for thieves to break a window and still drive the car away without the key fob.

Allowing your vehicle to run while unattended is a bad idea, and to top it off, it’s also illegal and a summons may be issued under Trenton City Ordinance 305-1.

Therefore, the Trenton Police Department would like to remind you to not leave your vehicles unattended, making sure your vehicles are secured and become victim during this time.

Todo los sitios de la vacuna contra el COVID son solo con cita!

However, ALL VACCINE SITES ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. If you do not have an appointment, do not show up to a vaccine site unless contacted directly by someone from the City of Trenton Health Department. We need to keep the vaccine rollout as organized as possible to maximize the number of residents we can help.
