In response to Covid-19 SFFNJ will issue mini grants to support organizations with efforts to conduct Virtual/Distant Learning for the educational, social emotional, physical and mental health needs of the citizens of Trenton.

These COVID-19 Response Mini-Grants are for organizations that are seeking to provide Virtual/Distant Learning support for the educational, social emotional , physical and mental health needs of the citizens of Trenton. Further, we are looking to fund organizations that show the capacity to accomplish the goals laid out in your grant request, be sure to be very clear about the capacity of your organization.

What this grant will NOT Fund

*Building renovations and new facility construction

*Capital and endowment campaigns and project

*Fundraising appeals, festivals or events, and sponsorships

*Individual Support

*Sponsorship of events (Sponsorships are occasionally made and solely at our discretion)

*Lobbying or political activities

*Fraternal Activities

*Essential police and fire services

*For Profit entities

*Feeding Programs

* Organizations that have not been in existence for at least 1 year .

Technical Assistance:

Grant Request Letters are to be submitted online at our website www.sffnj.org

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until May 31, 2020 or until funds have been depleted, whichever comes first.

Letters should be two pages only, 1. A well written request and 2. A budget narrative of how funds will be spent.

Only electronic submissions will be accepted.

COVID-19 Mini-Grant request can be made for $750 - $1,000.

A Better Way Inc, would like to Congratulate Miss Nairobi Wilburn & Miss Nyah Wilburn on receiving the 2019 James Austin Jr. Book Scholarship Memorial Award. They both will be graduating from Stem Civics High School next week & will be attending college in the fall. Nairobi, Elizabeth City State University & Nyah, Felician University. Join Students for Prison Education and Reform (SPEAR) tonight from 4-7 for an interactive discussion and action plan to combat youth homelessness. A Better Way, Inc., Sustainable Jersey, and Trenton Health Team have collaborated with a communications class at The College of New Jersey to plan a panel discussion on April 1--TOMORROW AT 4:30 PM! It will be hosted in the TCNJ Library Auditorium. The panel will discuss health inequality after viewing the “Unnatural Causes” documentary from PBS.

All are welcome to connect with the local community through thoughtful discussion on health inequalities! This event coincides with the start of National Public Health Week, which is why the students are very eager to allow everyone in the community a voice to speak about health inequalities and their experiences with public health issues! Come on and come all!
