Help PACT Teams Bring Joy this Christmas
Every day, our PACT Teams make a difference in the lives of men and women who suffer from mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Because of funding cuts, we are on a mission to raise $9,000 to help the 306 men and women we serve through our PACT program feel the joy of this holiday season.
Thank you to everyone who has already donated. We have raised $845 so far and hope to keep going strong.
By donating today, the people we serve can enjoy a special meal on Thanksgiving and open a thoughtful gift on Christmas.

We shared this video earlier this holiday season -- but we are so proud of our amazing team, we decided to share it again. Enjoy!
Today is Giving Tuesday. Because of your donation:
• Someone will receive counseling for mental illness or addiction.
• A woman and her children will find a safe haven to escape domestic violence.
• We provide food and shelter to families who have fallen on hard times.
Your financial gifts help us continue our mission of reducing poverty, promoting recovery and strengthening families within the Diocese of Trenton.

WATCH: Volunteers from our Fix It program in Ocean County spent Saturday raking leaves for elderly residents in Brick Township and Point Pleasant. 🍂🍁🍂🍁
Fix It enlists volunteers to perform minor home repairs and chores in senior citizens' homes to ensure they can live independently and safely. Fix It volunteers have been quite busy during the ongoing pandemic, with more people spending more time at home.
Shout out to program Supervisor John McCrone, regular Fix It volunteers Rick Reseter, Tom Devine and Mike Rytelewski, and volunteers Ted Lawless and John Coyle of the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association, for their hard work Saturday! 💪🏼
Children's services at Catholic Charities
Our Family Growth Program offers specialized children's services to help children recover from abuse, neglect and other traumas. Childhood trauma can have lifelong impact, making this work critically important.
This family-strengthening program serves children, adults and families in Mercer and Monmouth counties. We serve everyone, regardless of faith, ability to pay or anything else.
* Children pictured are not clients.
Reducing poverty, restoring hope
Our Community Services programs are designed to reduce poverty and meet the essential needs of our communities' most vulnerable residents in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties.
These programs include food pantries, Rapid Re-Housing (rental assistance to prevent homelessness), Linkages (short-term, emergency transitional housing for individuals and families), Fix It (home repairs for senior citizens in Ocean County), Parish Services (meets basic needs of anyone referred by parishes) and MORE.
We serve everyone, regardless of faith, ability to pay or anything else.

WATCH: Our PACT Team 1 moved into a bright, airy new space in Hamilton this summer. They've still got pictures to hang on the walls, but the place has really come together nicely!
Check out the slideshow below for a peek at their new digs!
PACT stands for Program for Assertive Community Treatment. We have three PACT teams in Mercer County and one in Burlington County that work to ensure about 370 people with persistent, serious mental illness can live independently in the community.
The new location is in the the Ibis Plaza office complex at 3525 Quakerbridge Road (Suite 909) in Hamilton.
All of our PACT teams have remained fully operational through the ongoing pandemic, shifting some services online and making many more house calls than usual to ensure clients get needed care. Let's hear it for our essential workers!
Happy Memorial Day!
On this day, we honor and remember all those who served and died for our country and our freedom. We wish you a peaceful and blessed Memorial Day today!
WATCH: On this #feelgoodFriday, let's hear it for our volunteers!
Today was delivery day at our Community Services-Ocean food pantry in Lakewood. Fulfill NJ brought us a truckload of food for people in need - but our usual helpers weren't on hand to carry it all inside, due to the #coronavirus #quarantine. So a few awesome volunteers stepped in to do the heavy work, including Harry Postel, who retired a few years ago from Catholic Charities, two fellows from the fabulous The Center for FaithJustice, and employees from around our agency.
In this video, our volunteers share why they feel driven to help.
In times of trouble, look for the helpers, as Mr. Rogers said. A heartfelt thank-you to our great volunteers! ❤️

A message from our Executive Director Marlene Laó-Collins
THANK YOU! Thanks to the generosity and compassion of our donors, we made it to the $250,000 goal of our Coronavirus Crisis Fund!
Because of our experience with past disasters, we know it may take months, or even years, for many individuals and families to fully recover. That's why we must raise our Crisis Fund goal now. We urgently need help for what is coming.

WATCH: The Knights of Columbus Council 7677 in conjunction with the Works of Mercy Ministry and parishioners of Saint Gregory the Great Church in Hamilton Square collected food this week to help people in our El Centro program, which serves Mercer County's Latino community, through tough times during the coronavirus crisis.
Grand Knight Andrew Usmiani and El Centro Director Roberto Hernandez met up last night at St. Gregory, where the Knights and parishioners packed the food into a van for delivery to El Centro.
Fr. Marcin Kania, Parochial Vicar at St. Gregory, blessed the food before the volunteers got to work.
We are so grateful to the Knights of Columbus and St. Gregory the Great Church for this generous collection, along with all our donors, who we rely on now more than ever.

What better way to banish the winter doldrums than a dance! Clients and staff from some of our Behavioral Health programs gathered this week at Delaware House for their annual "Friendship Dance." Almost 90 clients attended from programs including Partial Care, Riverbank Self-Help, Delaware House, and Intensive Residential Program (IRP) -South.
Our "consumer council" bought pizza, IRP staffers brought dessert, and Wally Loza, a member of our Burlington County board, donated money for a DJ. 🎧🎤Thanks to them all!
Check out some scenes, below, from the fun event. John Travolta better look out, because our clients and staff have got some moves! 🕺🕺🕺

Brick funding helps domestic violence victims
WATCH: A sincere thank you to Brick Township for giving $10,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds to our Providence House Domestic Violence Services in Ocean County! This funding supports the work our legal advocates do in Brick municipal court, where they meet with and assist domestic violence victims. Brick Township has supported Providence House in this way for many years.
In the video below, listen to Brick Mayor John Ducey and Carol Penn, Providence House-Ocean's outreach supervisor, talk about how our work and this funding help people overcome the trauma of domestic violence.
Thank you, Brick Township, for being our loyal Partner in Peace!
