Students from Ms. Donna's and Ms. Karen's classes at MES pretended to be excavators, using different tools to expose and dig up dinosaurs. Students used fine motor skills to use various tools to break apart the egg to reveal the dinosaurs. This activity required a lot of patience, but five dinosaurs were discovered within the egg. It was a great sensory experience!

Ms. Jess's class at MHS had their annual egg hunt! We focused on the core words "put," "in," "get," "big," and "little." We had to listen and follow directions while opening the eggs. We had to find either a big egg or a little egg and use our AAC devices to tell Ms. Jess, Ms. Jen, Ms. Trish, and Mr. Jose which size egg we found. We had so much fun!

The students in B238 again practiced their skills by creating digital portfolios and resumes and presenting them for a mock college admissions interview. College Day was a massive hit with our students as they explored themselves as individuals and yet another option for when they graduate! Thank you, Full Sail University, for partnering with me again and all the staff joining in on the fun! - Ms. "S"

Let’s make some Prom dreams come true!

It’s our 2nd Annual Prom Giveaway, organized by the Mercer High School Occupational Therapy Department. When prom arrives, not every student has the money to buy a gown, rent a tux, or afford the finishing touches to a special outfit for a memorable evening. Let’s make sure that each student has everything they need to attend the prom.

We are currently asking for accessories (jewelry, a clutch, dress shoes, etc.) and dress clothing (suits, dress shirts, dresses, dress pants, and sport coats). We know that with your help these students will have a wonderful night to remember. The items most needed last year were larger sizes for women and men’s smaller sizes.

The donations will be organized, inventoried, and distributed by the students within the OT department. This helps to improve a variety of skills that they are already practicing.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

Thank you

Please bring them to:
