🌡️Each week brings another heat wave across New Jersey, and staying safe is more important than ever. When applying pesticides while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), staying cool and hydrated is especially important. Take regular breaks in a cool or shaded area, drink plenty of water, and watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including:
💧 Heavy sweating
🤕 Headache or dizziness
🤢 Nausea
💪 Muscle spasms or cramps

If you or a coworker shows signs of heat exhaustion, move them to a shaded or cool area, loosen their clothing, and provide water. If symptoms worsen or do not improve, seek medical attention.

Despite recent rains, NJ is still in a Drought Warning.

👉Small Changes = Big Impact! Take these small steps:

💧Don’t wash your car at home, use a commercial car wash that recycles water
💧Limit water play in sprinklers
💧Use a broom instead of a hose to cleanup sidewalks/decks
💧Check/repair water leaks around your home and yard
