Please make sure your pets are kept inside!!!
Cats and dogs should be kept inside during cold weather.
It's a common belief that dogs and cats are more resistant than people to cold weather because of their fur, but it's untrue. Like people, cats and dogs are susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia and should be kept inside.
Please see the flyer on E-Bike and E-Scooter Safety. There has been an increase in the number of fires involving these types of devices.

BTPD releases details of fuel spill at Petro Truck Stop.
On December 13th 2022 at approximately 7:40 PM the Bordentown Township Police Department was detailed to 402 Rising Sun Road (Petro Truck Stop) for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle leaking fluids. Upon arrival the responding officers learned that a 1987 tanker trailer sustained a puncture to portion of it's tank as a result of a collision with a parked tractor trailer. Upon speaking with the driver identified as Michael Roberts, he advised that his bill of lading paperwork indicated that he was transporting 7,500 gallons of “JET A” fuel.
The Derby Fire Department Station 322 was detailed to the scene. Upon their arrival they established a command post for the hazmat incident and established a perimeter around the spill area. All trucks and pedestrians were evacuated from the perimeter area to a safe location.
The Burlington County Hazmat Team, Burlington County Health Department, New Jersey DEP, The Joint Base Hazmat Team and Burlington County Office of Emergency Management were contacted to respond to the scene. The Bordentown EMS was also staged at the scene to treat any potential injuries and the New Jersey State Police responded and assisted with evacuating trucks.
The scene was secured and The Joint Base Hazmat Team was able to stop the leak and prevented additional fuel from leaking. The Petro Truck Stop contracted First Call Environmental Inc. and they responded to the scene to clean up the Hazmat spill. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident and the involved vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
Roberts is a 60 year old male employed as a driver by Williams Enterprise LLC. Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The cleanup is still in progress and the exact amount of fuel has not yet been determined. It is estimated that approximately half of the fuel being transported was spilled prior to stopping the leak.

Photos from training conducted over the last couple months. Firefighters worked on honing their search and rescue techniques in an acquired structure. The masks were covered, making them use the other senses, and maintain awareness to their location. In the other training the members practiced the Denver Drill, which is designed to rescue a downed firefighter. The members practiced different techniques for lifting and removing the firefighter, as no two situations are the same.
Photos from our Annual Golf Tournament that was held on October 13th. We would like to thank all the sponsors, golfers, and members who make this event possible and a success. A photo album was created so all the pictures can be viewed.
