Kenneth Applegate on this day in 1971 gave his life in the line of duty. Let us not never forget.
Can someone tell me when santa will be around in Bordentown township?
In Memory of Assistant Chief Kenneth Applegate - Killed in Line of Duty on this day, September 1971.
Big shout out to the Firefighters, EMT’s & other emergency personal who came out and took care of TJ’s Grandmom, our mother when she was in need of emergency transport. You guys & girls are awesome. Our family felt the love with your response. Thank you so much.
I ask the Mission Fire Company if there could be a moment of silence and the Flag flown at half mast tomorrow in honor of my Brother Ken , Assistance Chief who was killed in a house fire on September 19th 1971. Thank You. Steve Applegate - BORDENTOWN, NJ Asst. Chief Kenneth Applegate - Age 24 - Mission Fire Co. While operating an interior line at an early-morning dwelling fire, he was killed when an explosion occurred. His body was later found floating in the water-filled basement. An autopsy revealed that he had suffered third-degree burns and had died of suffocation. The explosion was believed to have been the result of a natural gas leak.
