Mercer County Executive Dan Benson will discuss his vision for revitalizing Trenton at the next Kiwanis Club of Trenton program on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. All are welcome to attend the program, which begins at noon in Leonardo’s II Restaurant, 2021 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Please RSVP to [email protected] by June 2, 2026. Lunch will be available off the menu for $20.
In 2023, Dan was elected the first new Mercer County Executive in two decades, bringing a new spirit of collaboration, innovation, and transparency to County government. During his first two years in office he stabilized the County's finances, established new offices for Tourism, Food Security, and LGBTQIA+ Affairs, and attracted new investment to the community including the Trenton Ironhawks hockey team in Trenton and the new Children's Hospital of Philadelphia campus coming to Hamilton.
Founded in 1918, the Kiwanis Club’s programs have supported children’s services, community events and, since 1955, the Kiwanis Camp Fund, which has raised over $2 million for summer camp experiences for Trenton children. In addition to the ongoing Camp Fund, current Kiwanis initiatives include Heritage Week, a celebration of America’s 250th birthday with programming from July 4 – 8, 2026 as well as “Vision Trenton,” a collaborative community effort to stimulate economic redevelopment by promoting Trenton’s extensive historic assets.
