SHURZ ROAD CLOSING
Wayne Township

The Butler County Engineer's Office reports the two-day closure of Shurz Road, approximately 200 feet north of Mill Road and 1.3 miles south of Gratis Jacksonburg Road, on Monday, March 23, 2026. The road will be closed to all through traffic as the contractor clears trees in preparation for the upcoming bridge replacement over Elk Creek and is scheduled to reopen on March 24, 2026.

Detour: Northbound Shurz Road traffic will detour west on S.R. 744, north on S.R. 503, and east on West Elkton Gilford Road to Greenwood Road/Shurz Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route.

Motorists are encouraged to check the BCEO website and PROJECTS MAP, as well as Facebook and X , for possible date and status changes concerning this and other closures/advisories.

Reminder
Wayne Township Trustees will be holding a special meeting on December 1st, 2025 at 7:00pm at the Township Hall located at 5967 Jacksonburg Road for the purpose of discussing the appointment of a public official. They will review all resumes that were submitted and a decision will be made. The swearing in of the new Trustee will be held at the December 15th Regular Trustees meeting.
