The Work First New Jersey (WFNJ) Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) cash assistance program normally requires that you participate in a work activity. During the COVID-19 public health emergency, the New Jersey Division of Family Development lifted this requirement.

The moratorium on utility shutoffs will end July 1, 2021 ⏰ but Governor Phil Murphy has established a six-month grace period for customers to enroll in a deferred payment agreement with their utility and apply for financial assistance.
