The New Jersey Economic Development Authority has announced dates for public listening sessions for the state’s Food Desert Relief Tax Credit Program - and is also seeking public input. The Food Desert Relief Act addresses the food security needs of communities across New Jersey by providing up to $40 million per year in tax credits, loans, grants, and/or technical assistance to increase access to nutritious foods and develop new approaches to alleviate food deserts. The 𝗡𝗝𝗠𝗩𝗣 offers grants of 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 $𝟮𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 to enable purchases of equipment to improve productivity and efficiency.

The program will offer stackable bonuses for certified woman-, minority-, or veteran-owned , businesses in Opportunity Zones, and businesses purchasing manufacturing equipment in the State of New Jersey, as well as bonuses for businesses that have a collective bargaining agreement in place.
