It was a privilege for the Trenton Fire Department Engine 8 crew to be invited and to perform the presentation: ‘Fire Safety for Seniors’ today. We enjoyed speaking with the different groups who joined us in their Community Room. Thank You Fire Director Kenneth Douglas for coming also and saying some words to our ‘Wiser’ residents along with our Engine Company #9 crew as well. Firefighters conducted their Second Annual 9/11 Memorial Run through the City. Starting at Fire Headquarters and ending at Station 1 on Calhoun St,they stopped at every firehouse and completed 9.11 miles throughout the City. Participants in the run also wore Coach McKenna memorial t-shirts in memory of a man who dedicated his time to assist recruits reach personal fitness goals while in the academy for the past 10 years. When asked what the best part of the run was many members said it was the Residents cheering them on and honking horns for them. Trenton will never forget!
Yesterday, we hosted members of the 9/11 Promise Run on their pit stop in Trenton, on their way to NYC. After a long day of running they sat down to some BBQ from Mission BBQ Deptford, nj. Beverages were provided by Signal 22 Canteen Unit who is always helping out our first responders. And dessert was provided by BUZZETA festival foods. Thanks to all that helped make this a successful stop for the runners!

On the evening of September 1st and the early of morning September 2nd Trenton Fire Fighters faced high winds, torrential downpours, fast moving water and tornado warnings with touchdowns in the area. With what remained of Hurricane Ida hitting Mercer County, they collectively made 22 rescues of victims in swift moving water from ten vehicles. These rescues could not have been made without the bravery and dedication of the departments members and the leadership of that evening. After the rain and winds left the area, members of the department also faced a House fire on the 100 block of Genesee st.
Our Honor Guard along with Sheriff’s & Trenton Police’s, participated in Athing Mu’s parade.
