One busy Christmas 2022.

Trenton volunteers responded to five calls for assistance Christmas day. This is in addition to six calls as the powerful storm rolled through Friday night.

Two calls came in early this morning as well.

Last night around 1:13am, the HCRRC transmitted a tone for Trenton FD to respond to a reported structure fire on Nutting Lane in Trenton. On the initial call Ellsworth, Lamoine, and Hancock responded as part of a automatic mutual aid agreement. Ellsworth arrived on scene first to discover a working room and content fire at the residence. Departments worked quickly to contain that fire to room of origin.
Seven TVFD members responded with all apparatus. As always, thanks to our mutual aid partners with Versant Power, HCRCC, and NLEMS.
There also a call for assistance from Bar Harbor FD during this event. They were all set once crews cleared Trenton around 3am.

13 calls since Friday afternoon. 145 for 2022

We all know how wonderful yet, hectic the holidays can be! If you are putting up a fresh cut tree, it is so important to keep it watered regularly. Dry Christmas Trees present an extreme fire danger. Always have working smoke alarms and a designated meeting place. Talk about and practice your escape plans and make sure visiting friends and family know this important information as well. All of us at the Trenton Vol. Fire Dept. wish you and your families a safe and warm holiday season!

Firefighters in Irvine, California, demonstrated how quickly a Christmas tree can catch fire and quickly spread to other areas of the home.

You may have noticed the exclamation mark after call 132. This is significant for our small department as it marks the most number of calls for service the Trenton Vol. Fire Dept. has ever had.
The previous record was set in 2019 with 129 requests for service.
We continue to thank our volunteer responders, who regularly answer the call. We couldn't do it with out them.

Delayed - Call 131
Trenton Crews were called out last night for a Box truck accident that involved a utility pole with low hanging wires.
Route 3 was required to be shutdown for an extended period, so that Recovery and Power Crews could safely mitigate and make necessary repairs.
We would like to thank our mutual aid partners; Lamoine Fire, Ellsworth Fire, Bar Harbor Fire, Hancock County Sheriffs Department, Hancock County RCC, Northern Lights, Dave's Towing and Bouchard & Sons towing, Maine DOT and Versant power for mobilizing a sizable crew to make the necessary repairs. Thank you all in assisting us with this unique situation.
