Occupy Social Entrepreneurship

Occupy Social Entrepreneurship Occupy Social Entrepreneurship is here for celebrating small business, social enterprise and entrepreneurship for creating jobs and renewing community.

I created Occupy Social Entrepreneurship as a Call To Action to those who are driven by a desire for social justice and economic parity. Cultural Creatives, Green advocates, practitioners of Sustainability, and people who believe that the purpose of Governance and Good Government is to make life better for ALL – and not just the privileged few. Allow me to be clear about the term, “economic parity

.” I DO NOT mean “equality” in the sense that all effort should lead to equal outcomes. I want to suggest that everyone should have ACCESS to a basic starting point for their own pursuit of economic advancement. For me, this means access to a good education, basic health maintenance systems and decent food, shelter and clothing. I think “access” to these basics should be guaranteed by civil society as an investment in that society. I do not want to live in a community where I am obliged to either step over an individual (whose ONLY means for support is begging in the street) – OR – to pick that person up (along with all others in similar conditions) and take them to my own home, for care and support. Rather, I want to live in a society where a portion of my income, in the form of taxes, assures me that those less fortunate souls will have some means of self-care and self-development, by way of the Public Good: Good education, health, and access to food, shelter. This leads me to my second, very important point for this Page. It may seem like a paradox to some, but this Page is also calling out to those who wish to build wealth for the purpose of doing Good in the world. Money is neither good nor bad. Money is ENERGY. Occupy Social Entrepreneurship is a testimony to recognizing that we – advocates for social justice and economic parity – must do our part to generate enough ENERGY to produce the changes that WE believe are important in the world. We cannot forget that WHAT WE RESIST PERSISTS! To that point, it is useless to engage in a continuous fight with moneyed sources that seek worsen the state of income inequality that is dampening the western / U.S. economy. We must call upon our INTERNAL capacity as human Beings to GROW ourselves out of these deadening conditions, so that we support members of our family and our community (local / regional / national / global) to also GROW THEMSELVES. If you see yourself as part of this Tribe – JOIN IN! Post your blogs, and share resources and tools that you believe will pull your own Energy into this Cause, and support others who are prepared to share in this space to Occupy Social Entrepreneurship! Here’s to our Success!

"What started as an idea that emerged on an island in the Stockholm archipelago has brought practitioners around the world into dialogue on what it means to put the Inner Development Goals into action for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2022 and 2023, the IDG Summits brought over 2000 guests, including Otto Scharmer, Amy Edmondson, Robert Kegan, Jennifer Garvey Berger, Johan Rockström, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Caroline Casey, and many more, to Stockholm – with thousands joining digitally or from local IDG Hubs.

For this third edition, we aim not to get ‘bigger and better,’ but to grow ‘deeper and broader,’ bringing in more diverse voices and sharing best-practice stories of how inner development is driving transformative change individually, within organisations and across communities."
