Goodfaith

Goodfaith Goodfaith is an independent, non-profit Catholic apostolate based in New Jersey. For more information, check out our programs page.

Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant community of faith in action through transformative experiences of missionary discipleship rooted in Catholic social tradition. Our Mission and Our Faith: The Center for FaithJustice inspires the next generation of leaders by creating programs to serve those in need and educate for justice in the Catholic tradition. Who We Are: Rooted in the Catholic tradition

, the Center for FaithJustice affirms the essential relationship between what we believe and how we live. We join the words “Faith” and “Justice” into a single term to reflect our conviction that faith and justice are intimately bound together. God calls us – as individuals and as communities – to act on behalf of the vulnerable, weak and oppressed. Through CFJ’s work, we ask people of faith to revisit and renew their commitment to the Gospel and the common good. We are inspired by the Second Vatican Council’s teaching that “[t]he laity must take up the renewal of the temporal order as their own special obligation,” and thus “[e]verywhere and in all things they must seek the justice of God’s kingdom.” Through our projects, we hope that people of good will grow in understanding of the spiritual life and deepen their commitment to pursuing social, economic, and political justice for all people. Since our founding in 2008, we have served more than 4,000 young people through our WorX programs, which are retreat-style service immersion experiences. Our alumni have gone on to become impressive servant leaders in many diverse fields.

"Too much, too fast, too hard." That's how Karen describes the world we're all living in.
Here's the part that stuck with us: you don't actually need anyone to tell you how to take care of yourself. You already know. What you're missing is the time, the space, the permission, and the support to do it.

But the pause is hard, right? Our bodies are so wired for what's next, what's next, what's next that just stopping feels almost impossible.

New episode with somatic practitioner Karen Bortvedt Estrada, out now.

What if the most important things happening in your faith community can't be counted?

Attendance numbers and giving reports don't measure whether people are actually growing in faith. Are there hearts changing? Relationships deepening? Are their lives being transformed?

That's exactly why we created the Transformational Ministry Assessment.

Grounded in the walk to Emmaus story and rooted in Catholic social tradition, the TMA gives parishes a new way to reflect on real formation across four dimensions: Head, Heart, Hands, and Community.

It's not just a tool. It's a conversation starter about where God might be inviting your parish to grow.

Sport. Art. Faith. One family's approach to raising balanced kids.

Kate and Anthony follow a rule they actually inherited from his parents: every kid picks something active and something creative. And their third piece? Faith. Not as a checkbox, but as something they genuinely want their kids to want.

"We want it to be because you're meeting people in that way — shared values, some grounding, some relationship building."

That's a family culture worth passing down. 🙏

Check out the full conversation with Kate and Anthony on Episode 35 of our podcast, In Goodfaith.

"Each of us needs to drink from our own well."

Juan Escarfuller didn't plan on his sons choosing a different path. But what he found in letting go was something he couldn't have taught them: the courage to love across every divide.

Maybe that's a gift from God that was always there.
