Dear Voters,
Please be aware that different groups are mailing out voter registration cards and other materials, unfortunately some of the mailings are misleading. The Gilchrist County Supervisor of Elections office nor the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Elections had any involvement with this mailing and has no idea where they received the information they used.
Robo-calls have also started in Gilchrist County. Your Supervisor of Elections is NOT RESPONSIBLE for these calls and they were not initiated by this office and we have no way of stopping them. We realize that there is an option during the call to press a number whereby you are automatically connected to your local Elections office. My staff and I are always ready to assist you with your election needs, choosing to connect to our office just to display your anger towards the robo-call is not accomplishing anything. Please do not speak ugly to the staff in the Elections office, if you feel you must lay blame with someone then ask to speak directly to your Supervisor of Elections.
You may contact the Supervisor of Elections office at 352-463-3194 for any questions or concerns about your voter registration or go to www.votegilchrist.com to check your voter status.

To minimize exposure to COVID-19 and help protect our customers, as well as our employees the Gilchrist County Supervisor of Elections will temporarily close to the public beginning Wednesday, April 1st until further notice.

Vote-By Mail is a very popular option and may be even more viable in the post COVID-19 environment this fall. Ballots are mailed approximately 45 days prior to Election Day.
Has your mail ballot request expired?
Mail ballot requests are only valid for two General Election cycles. So, many requests expired immediately after the last General Election. Also, make sure your signature is up to date!
You can renew your request with our Elections Office at (352) 463-3194 or by visiting our website at votegilchrist.com. Voting from home is safe, secure and convenient.

03/31/2020

Our office will be closed to the public starting Wednesday, April 1st, until further notice due to COVID-19 concerns. We recommend using our website if any changes need to be made to your registration or if you need to request a Vote by Mail ballot. As always, we are still available by phone or email.

The Gilchrist County Canvassing Board completed the machine recount in the U.S. Senate, Governor and Commissioner of Agriculture race on Sunday, November 11. We are happy to report 100 percent accuracy with the voting equipment. We will submit our 2nd set of unofficial results to the Division of Elections this afternoon and will wait for an order for a possible manual recount of over and under votes.

July 30 is the last day to register to vote or change your party for the upcoming Primary Election in August. Florida is a Closed State Primary, which means you have to vote within your party. You can go to our website, www.votegilchrist.com, to register or change your party.

There are times when all registered voters can vote in a primary election, regardless of which major or minor political party they are registered or even if they are registered without a specific party affiliation. During these elections, the race is considered to be a Universal Primary Contest:

The Gilchrist County Courthouse and our office will be closed on Tuesday, April 24th, as we honor our two heroes that will be laid to rest. Please continue to pray for their families and the entire law enforcement community. God Bless them all.
