Don't you think every dog should be this cozy at Christmas time? Well, really, all the time? The shelter is FULL. It is cold outside and sadly this is when a lot of dogs are dumped. If you can find it in your heart to open your home, for a while or a week, please apply at tarnj.org/foster. We cover all medical expenses and provide you with food. If you're going away for a day or two, we can also cover the cost of pet sitting for you. Please email us at [email protected] if you have more questions about our foster program or our available pups. Thank you so very much for helping!

PS: How great does Max look?!!!

“During the whole night it alternately hailed, rained, snowed, and blew tremendously. I recollect very well that at one time, when we halted on the road, I sat down on the stump of a tree and was so benumbed with cold that I wanted to go to sleep; had I been passed unnoticed I should have frozen to death without knowing it. We then began to march again, just in the old slow way, until the dawn of day, about half-past seven in the morning.”

Words cannot truly capture the sense of loss that we are feeling today after hearing the news of TPD employee Ashley Marshall’s passing.

Sorrow fills our hearts, a sorrow that is deep and personal. Ashley was a valued and respected member of our police department, and the effects of her passing will always be felt by her fellow employees.

Ashley, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who started serving as a Trenton school crossing guard in 2013, was later appointed to be a parking enforcement officer in 2015. She has always been a dedicated team player who brought a smile to those around her each day and made numerous contributions to our community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ashley’s family and friends during this difficult time. While she will not be with us in person for the holidays, her spirit will be with us always.

Today we mourn the passing of TWW employee Christopher Morgan over the weekend.

Chris was a model employee who was instrumental to our lead service line replacement program. He was a hard worker who quickly climbed the ranks in just a few short years. Most importantly, he was a kind person who was beloved and respected by many at TWW.

We take so much pride in our water utility because of caliber of the people that run it. Trenton lost an incredible civil servant and an even better person. My condolences go out to his friends, family, and colleagues who will have to bear his loss this holiday season.

Do you live, work, shop or eat in downtown Trenton? Take this survey and help the city develop projects that will rejuvenate the downtown area! You'll also get a chance to win a $25 gift card to participating downtown Trenton businesses: https://bit.ly/3rIdyEW.

The survey is part of DCA's Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP). In October 2021, Trenton was awarded a five-year NPP designation, which includes an initial $125,000 grant to engage local residents and businesses and generate tangible change in the downtown district. Trenton's downtown will receive up to $125,000 a year for five years to assist with economic and community development.

The online survey is one step toward ensuring residents and business owners have the opportunity to provide valuable input for the five-year NPP Implementation Plan. More info about the program: https://tinyurl.com/y6pcsvyj
