We would like to take a moment to commend the outstanding efforts of our community departments. They responded quickly to a call on Friday along with many other area departments to support a neighboring county in battling a massive fire. Gibson County Fire Department, Milan Fire Department, Gibson Fire Department, Rutherford Fire Department, Dyer Fire Department, and Yorkville Fire Departments all provided vital assistance. These committed men and women demonstrated remarkable selflessness, devoting hours of their time without hesitation. They persisted until exhausted, and then continued to give more until the fire was extinguished, displaying extraordinary commitment. We are deeply grateful for their service and hope they recognize how much we appreciate their tireless efforts.
