Last evening, nearly 50 CHS staff, Board members, family, and friends gathered at the Trenton Thunder baseball game to celebrate one of our very own - Vice President of Programs, Dolores Bryant - who was recognized on the field as a Hometown Hero!

Having Dolores recognized in front of the community was a proud moment for all of us. Her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to children and families exemplify what CHS is all about. Congratulations, Dolores, on this well-deserved honor! We are incredibly proud of you.

We were delighted to welcome Mercer County Executive Dan Benson, Community Development Specialist Garrett Racz, and Interns Romy Johnson and Andrew Borghard to The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey!

We appreciated the opportunity to discuss Mercer County’s priorities and explore how CHSofNJ can continue to support children, families, and communities across the county. Their visit also provided an opportunity to see firsthand the breadth and depth of CHSofNJ’s programs - from maternal and child health and community-based doulas to early childhood education, family support, child welfare, and beyond.

Join us as we celebrate World Breastfeeding Month with a free educational event for parents, expectant parents, caregivers, and families on Monday, August 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Hosted by the CHSofNJ Mercer WIC Program, this special gathering is an opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate the many benefits of breastfeeding in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The program will feature New Jersey State WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Coordinator Eriny Saad, IBCLC, along with fun games, prizes, and light refreshments for attendees.

Based in Puerto Rico, Proyecto Nacer empowers teen parents through education, healthcare, and supportive services that help them achieve independence, pursue academic and career goals, and build brighter futures for themselves and their children.

Last night's Body & Soul Prenatal Education Program baby shower was a joyful celebration and the perfect way to conclude this empowering course for expecting parents.

Facilitated by Shahera and Zuliema, the program equips families with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to prepare for their baby's arrival. The evening was filled with smiles, encouragement, and thoughtful gifts as we celebrated each growing family and this exciting new chapter in their lives.
