In the early hours of the morning 2 of our stations were dispatched to the area of Sleepy Hollow rd for a car fire. Upon arrival they deployed a 1 3/4 handline and used two buckets of foam to assist in extinguishment of the fire. We are so grateful for the dedicated men and women of our wonderful department.

🚨 Smoke alarms save lives. šŸ”„

The legacy of Chief Lynn Murphy continues to make an impact every single day. Because of that dedication, we are still ranked #1 in the state of Tennessee with 9 documented saves—and many more that were never reported.

A free 10-year smoke alarm can truly save your life and your family. There’s no reason not to have one in your home.

We also want to give a big thank you to Battalion Chief Chadd Gilliam and Amber Crawford, now serving with the Fire Marshal’s Office, for continuing Chief Murphy’s mission of making sure every home has a working smoke alarm.

Protect what matters most—check your alarms today. 🚨 731-968-4153

Last week we had a large 2 story home with a full basement catch fire around the garage area. We were able to get a quick primary search done and get a quick attack on the fire. We were able to save the house as whole but the tenants were displaced. We had GCFD stations 2,6,11, Milan Fire Dept and Humboldt Fire Department and also Gibson Co EMS come to assist us with this. We are very grateful for our volunteer personnel and our mutual aid depts that never hesitate to come and assist when needed.

We are very thankful for all our volunteers in our awesome county.

We are very thankful for all our volunteers in our awesome county.

Each year, the first full week in March is observed in Tennessee as Volunteer Firefighters Week to honor and recognize volunteer firefighters for their courageous and dedicated service.

Starting today (March 1) through Saturday (March 7), Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) and the Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) honor the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices of Tennessee’s volunteer firefighters.

ā€œVolunteer fire departments are the backbone of fire safety in our communities and embody the Volunteer State’s spirit, receiving little to no compensation in order to help protect their neighbors,ā€ said TDCI Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Carter Lawrence. ā€œThis week, I salute Tennessee's volunteer firefighters for their work, and I believe that Tennessee’s volunteer firefighters should be honored for their sacrifices every day.ā€

Thank you, volunteer firefighters!
