As New Jersey’s capital county, Mercer County is a center for commerce and culture in the Garden State. Located midway between New York City and Philadelphia in New Jersey’s center, Mercer County’s 12 municipalities are home to more than 367,000 people in 226 square miles in the heart of region with 10% of the US population all within a 75-mile radius. The transportation infrastructure in Mercer C

ounty is also excellent. Key corridors along the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County are considered the most lucrative commerce centers in the state. In addition, Interstates 95, 195 and 295, as well as state highways routes 1, 29, 31 and 130 make Mercer County more attractive. Mercer County also offers access to commuter rail services, a light rail system and the Trenton-Mercer Airport. With a highly skilled and educated labor pool we’re also home to Princeton University, Rider University, The College of New Jersey, Thomas Edison State College and Mercer County Community College. The county holds some of the state's greatest cultural and historic sites with Revolutionary War battle sites in Trenton and Princeton. Recreation and entertainment are abundant with first-class parks, four public golf courses, and the Trenton Thunder at Arm & Hammer Park. CURE Insurance Arena is ranked among the best performing venues of its size in the world. Mercer County’s excellent schools, tourist destinations, and diverse, well educated workforce make our county a great place to live, work and play.

Mercer County will be hosting a Vietnam War Veterans Day celebration on Tuesday, March 29, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mercer County Office Park Gym, located at 1440 Parkside Ave, Ewing.
Mercer County is also asking Veterans or their family members to submit photographs to be included in a slide show to be displayed on the Mercer County Veteran Services page.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: CURE Insurance Arena at 81 Hamilton Ave., Trenton, will be hosting “Disney on Ice” today through Sunday. Please be advised that traffic is expected to be heavy for these shows and parking will be limited. Below are the dates and times that traffic is anticipated for these events. If you are not attending the event, please plan to avoid the area during these time periods.

Thursday, March 16 – Anticipate traffic after 4 p.m.
Friday, March 17 – Anticipate traffic after 4 p.m.

At the annual Human Services Advisory Council (HSAC) Legislative breakfast today at Mill One in Trenton, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Mercer County Executive, Brian M. Hughes announced that the first phase of construction is underway at Mercer County Park on its first ropes course and zip line area. Exciting! The new attraction is being built right across from the Festival Grounds. The ropes course will have different levels of difficulty to give all ages an opportunity to have some fun. Thanks WPST!

CONGRATULATIONS COUNTY EXECUTIVE BRIAN M. HUGHES!
Mercer County, New Jersey Executive Hughes to receive the Robert F. Casciola Distinguished American award from the Delaware Valley Chapter of the National Football Foundation and the College Hall of Fame, the organization's highest honor, at an awards ceremony March 12, 3 p.m. at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal. "Brian Hughes has exercised executive leadership that has been the benefit of all Mercer County residents. He has been a staunch supporter of efforts to expand and diversify programs offered by the Mercer County Park Commission, which has succeeded in getting more people involved in activities at Mercer County Stables, the Nature Center, Mercer County Park Festival Grounds and other park facilities.
