What an incredible day at our Cradle to Community Care Day event! We were honored to welcome families from across Jones County for a day filled with resources, support, and community connections.

From diapers and wipes to expectant parent resources, free haircuts, summer goody bags, family support services, and access to the Community Closet, we were thrilled to help connect families with valuable resources that make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to Blue Cross NC Trillium Health Resources and Jones County Collaborative for making this event possible.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to every vendor, community organization, and volunteer, who took the time to participate, share resources, and support our families. Your dedication and commitment to the well-being of our community helped make this event a tremendous success.

Most importantly, thank you to all the families who attended. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

🦝 Rabies Information for Jones County Residents

The Jones County Health Department has confirmed a positive rabies case in a raccoon. The animal was located near the area of Wyse Fork Road and Highway 41 East, and testing by the North Carolina State Laboratory confirmed the presence of the rabies virus.

While rabies cases in wildlife occur from time to time, this serves as an important reminder to protect your family and pets by taking a few simple precautions:

✔ Keep your pets' rabies vaccinations current.
✔ Avoid contact with wild animals, especially raccoons, bats, foxes, and skunks.
✔ Do not approach animals that appear sick, injured, unusually friendly, or aggressive.
✔ Supervise pets when outdoors and do not allow them to roam freely.

North Carolina law requires rabies vaccinations for dogs, cats, and ferrets over four months of age.

The Jones County Health Department offers one-year rabies vaccinations for only $7.00. For more information, please call 252-448-9111.

If you are bitten or scratched by an animal, wash the area immediately with soap and water and seek medical attention promptly.

Please see the flyer below for additional information and help us spread the word by sharing this post.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

It’s a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind one another that mental health is just as important as physical health. Everyone faces challenges, and no one should have to go through them alone.

Take a moment to check in on yourself and those around you. A simple conversation, a kind word, or offering support can make a meaningful difference.

Let’s continue to build a community where it’s okay to talk, to ask for help, and to prioritize well-being—this month and every month. 💚
