The Jones County Veterans Services Office has been made aware of the recent arrest of a member of the Jones County Veterans Advisory Board.

Effective immediately, the individual has been suspended from all advisory board activities pending formal action by the appropriate county authorities.

The mission of the Jones County Veterans Services Office and its Advisory Board is to serve veterans and their families with integrity, professionalism, and public trust. The alleged conduct described in the arrest report is inconsistent with the values and standards expected of those serving in an advisory capacity.

This matter is now under review in accordance with county policy. The investigation referenced by law enforcement remains ongoing, and we respect the legal process.

Our commitment to serving the veterans of Jones County remains unchanged.

Curbside waste collection will be suspended again on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Service is planned to resume on Wednesday. More details here:

•On Wednesday, the normal Monday route and a portion of the Tuesday route is planned for pickup.
•On Thursday, the remainder of the Tuesday route and the Wednesday route is planned for pickup.
•The remainder of the week, pickup will be one day behind normal pickup schedule.
