To replenish unemployment fund, Murphy administration raises taxes on businesses

Check list for Gov. Murphy:

X Promise to not raise taxes BUT RAISE TAXES on businesses by more than $250 million.

X Promise to help businesses survive when MORE THAN 300,000 CLOSED.

X VACATION at his multi-million dollar villa in Italy.

Failure must be tiring.

Other states tapped COVID-19 relief funds to repay their unemployment funds. New Jersey is raising taxes on businesses.

A mother's heartbreaking testimony on masks in schools

While the science consistently says the risk to children remains extremely low, Governor Phil Murphy is again mandating students K-12 wear masks. Expect to see more children suffer like Quinn of Middletown Township because politicians in power refuse to listen.

The Opportunist formerly known as "The Boss".

In 2012, Democrats and the mainstream media praised Bruce Springsteen’s album “Wrecking Ball” as a “Ballad for Occupy Wall Street”. One news article proclaimed “The Boss sticks up for the disenfranchised and directs broadsides against unscrupulous bankers and corporate executives.”

Fast Forward only nine years later, Bruce is singing a different tune. NJ Governor and former Goldman Sachs executive Phil Murphy lauded Bruce’s sold outperformance to a crowd of VACCINATED ONLY patrons. Tickets to the show started at $600.

Republicans slam Democrats for corrupting landmark criminal justice bill, again! Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips and Assemblyman Bergen slammed Democrats Thursday for including official misconduct and public corruption in a bill meant to reform the criminal justice system by ending mandatory minimum sentences for many nonviolent crimes in New Jersey.

DePhilips pushed to remove the language that would eliminate mandatory prison time for state or local public officials or employees convicted of crimes such as bribery. Democrats tabled DePhillips’ motion to amend the bill by a party-line vote of 47 to 27.

“This bill is taking away the safeguard to prevent all of us in this room, and our Senate colleagues, from abusing our positions. I don’t know in heaven’s name why you would do that. It doesn’t make any sense to me,” Bergen said.

06/24/2021

Assembly Republicans today stood up against Gov. Phil Murphy's outrageous FY2022 $46.4 billion spending bill, which Democrats heartily and predictably endorsed. The election-year budget, however, is gift-wrapped disaster for New Jersey. Spending has increased 34% percent since Gov. Murphy took office. Yet schools remain underfunded, NJ Transit ignored, unemployment insurance fraud unaddressed, and small businesses crushed. Don't be fooled: expect massive tax hikes next year.

Republicans See Right Through Democrats’ Lack of Transparency

Ripped directly from the pages of the Democrat playbook: “But we have to [release] the bill so that you can find out what’s in it...”

During Tuesday’s Budget Committee meeting, Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (R-13) and Assemblyman Hal Wirths (R-24) objected to releasing bills when Republicans had not yet been provided those bills’ language. Some of those those bills pertained to Gov. Phil Murphy's proposed FY2022 $46.4 billion budget.

Wirths questioned the rush to release the bills from committee. “There’s no way physically anybody could have read these or gone through them,” he said.

DiMaso was blunt. “You can’t release a bill you haven’t read, right?”

The bills were released along partisan lines.

Bramnick Warns of Democrat Legislation that will Hurt NJ Employers

Assemblyman Jon Bramnick issued a warning on Monday, directed at bill A5892, which essentially makes employers guilty of insurance fraud if they mistakenly classify a person as an independent contractor instead of an employee. The bill passed along party lines (48 Dem to 22 Rep).

Wirths Requests Additional Support to Struggling NJ Residents

During Monday’s voting session, Assemblyman Hal Wirths proposed amending legislation that expands eligibility under New Jersey earned income tax credit program. Wirths’ amendment would increase the earned income tax credit program to 100% of the federal level in addition to other revisions aimed to help struggling New Jerseyans. The Democrat majority immediately tabled the motion.

State building named for N.J. top health official for ‘grace under fire’ throughout pandemic

There is a time to honor the contributions of citizens and public servants. Regardless of whether you like state Health Commissioner Judith Persichelli or not, there is something fundamentally WRONG with naming a building after an official who is not only still living but showing up everyday to work for taxpayers at a building named after them. Government is suppose to work for the people in America, not the other way around.

The new health department building in Trenton will have the name of the nurse and former hospital CEO.

McClellan: Democrats Want to Destroy Businesses and Ignore Local Politicians while Chasing the Wind

Assemblyman Antwan McClellan blasted a Democrat-backed bill (A5894) during an Appropriations Committee hearing Wednesday. It would allow the state Board of Public Utilities to approve offshore wind farms without the input of local officials and business owners. Who would determine that and how is not specified in the bill. "Exploring green energy is fine", McClellan (R-Cape May) said, "but not at the expense of losing local control and destroying tourism and the fishing industry." He further warned that the problem is not Ocean City’s alone; ultimately, Democrats want wind farms up and down the shore.

A mother's heartbreaking testimony on masks in schools

If Governor Phil Murphy won’t listen to the science behind masking children, we urge him to hear the cries of Middletown Township kindergartener Quinn. We have been living under Governor Phil Murphy's authoritarian pandemic powers for more than 450 days. Questionable data and science guided roughly 140 executive orders that were supposedly meant to keep us safe. Since that time, New Jersey recorded more than 26,000 coronavirus-related deaths – the most per capita in the nation. At least 8,045 of those deaths have been among our most vulnerable – the staff and residents at nursing homes, veterans homes and other long-term care facilities. Thirty-four percent of our small businesses have closed permanently. More than 2.2 million claims for unemployment have been filed. How do you feel about being "in this together?"

In a pure political move, state Democrats took it upon themselves Thursday to honor Dr. Anthony Fauci – the highest paid out of all four million federal employees – even while national lawmakers are increasingly calling for his termination over a shift in his position on whether the U.S. government funded research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Republicans in the state Assembly fought hard against legislation allowing Gov. Phil Murphy to retain many of his executive powers at a state Assembly session Thursday.

The Democrat-led Legislature pushed through the controversial fast-tracked bill, which was introduced only two days earlier and bypassed committee hearings. The final vote was 44-28 along party lines, with every Republican voting "no."

Democrats voted against Assemblyman Hal Wirths' amendment to immediately end the public health emergency and guarantee the legislature, which has the power of the purse, won't be bypassed when Gov. Murphy decides what to do with over $6 billion in federal aid.

Instead, they voted to let Murphy keep his kingly powers until at least Jan. 11, 2022. Democrats don't mind not having to represent the people they serve. Gov. Murphy can do it!
