The Greeley Amusement is excited to announce that we have purchased a tilt a whirl, which will be installed late spring next year. The tilt a whirl is being purchased from Sun Valley Rides in New Mexico. It was formerly owned by Joseph Ewald, the carnival's long-standing mechanical inspector. Interestingly, the ride has Hollywood ties and was featured in the Rodgers and Hammerstein movie version of the musical State Fair.
"We are more than excited to add a new ride to the carnival and look forward to having it installed," said Diane Gentry, board president. "We've long had requests for a tilt a whirl and are eager to see it in action in 2026.”
The purchase cost was $50,000.00. A down payment of $10,000.00 has been made. The carnival Board will be hosting a Valentine's Day Luau with entertainment to help raise funds to support the purchase. Carnival board members will have tickets available for sale and will also be approaching business and individuals for auction items ahead of the event. For those interested in contributing before the end of 2025, tax deductible donations can made in the carnival's name to Growing the Vision: A foundation for the future of Greeley County and mailed to PO Box 656 or dropped off at the Greeley County Republican. You may also give your donation to any board member.
The board would to say Thanks in advance for your help with this purchase. Diane Gentry, Monty Moritz, Adriane Steinle Sherri Elder, David Huddleston, Erik Howell.Wyatt Dautel, & Christy Hopkins
