🖤 Today, the first responder family became a little smaller, and our hearts became much heavier.

The bond shared among those who serve is unlike any other. We answer the call together, stand shoulder to shoulder through life’s toughest moments, and when tragedy strikes, we grieve as one family.

Today, we mourn the loss of a brother whose commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. His courage, sacrifice, and dedication to his community have left an enduring legacy that will live on in those who had the honor of serving beside him.

To his family, friends, and fellow first responders, please know that you are surrounded by the thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support of an entire community that stands with you in this time of unimaginable loss.

Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.

A sincere thank you to our neighboring fire departments and our fellow county department, Kerens VFD, for responding last night and assisting with the structure fire in the Key Ranch area. This also includes the power company and Red Cross, thank you as well.

Your manpower, apparatus, and support are greatly appreciated. We are grateful for the strong mutual aid partnerships that help us serve our communities safely and effectively.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who served our country with courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication. 🇺🇸

On behalf of all of us at the fire department, thank you to every Veteran who answered the call to protect and defend this nation. Your strength, commitment, and selfless service will never be forgotten.

We are especially grateful for the Veterans in our own community — those who continue serving others long after their time in uniform through public service, leadership, and sacrifice.
