CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit – Warming temperatures and winds are quickly drying out the abundant annual grass crop. The increasing fire danger posed by the high volume of dead grass as well as hotter and drier conditions in the region, are prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Area of Shasta and Eastern Trinity Counties. This suspension takes effect at: 8:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, and bans all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves.

Thanks to the Redding Rancheria and the TCVFD Auxiliary, we were able to purchase a hose tester. The guys tested 1750' of hose from our Type 1 engine last night! Previously, we used a fire engine to pump water for testing - hard on the engine and volunteers!
