Please welcome Skip Carter “back home” as a CTE teacher for all things technology!

From Mr. Carter: I am excited to be returning to Medlin for the third time in my career and beginning a new chapter teaching Technology Applications and Computer Science. I bring more than 20 years of experience in education, including 14 years in Northwest ISD, with roles ranging from teacher and coach to instructional coach and administrator. While most of my career has been spent teaching 8th-grade mathematics, I am excited for this new opportunity and look forward to helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and technology skills. Outside of school, I enjoy basketball, snow/water skiing, scuba diving, working out, movies, eating and spending time with my family on road trip adventures. I can't wait to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new students and families, and be part of the Mustang community once again. Go Mustangs!

Welcome Mrs. Vaitai to Medlin! Mrs. Vaitai will serve our campus as the Student Services Facilitator, working with all families who receive MTSS and 504 services.

From Mrs. Vaitai: My name is Angie Vaitai, and I am excited to be joining the team at Medlin. I have been teaching at the secondary level for 22 years and am passionate about helping students grow academically and find their passion. Outside of the classroom, I love spending time with my family, am an avid reader, a lover of many sports, and travel pretty much any chance I get. I look forward to getting to know everyone and being part of this community.

Let’s welcome Coach Castleberry back “home”! She joins the Medlin team to coach girls athletics and teach 6th grade ELA and Leadworthy classes. From Coach Castleberry: Howdy!! I am Coach Castleberry and this will be my fourth year teaching and coaching middle school! I hope to instill a love for learning and reading in my students. I also hope to encourage my athletes to always have a positive attitude and give 100% effort! I am so excited to be back in my hometown and teaching at the middle school I once attended! Once a mustang, always a mustang!

Meet Katie Yelton! Mrs. Yelton is joining us as a 6th grade math teacher. From Mrs. Yelton: I am thrilled to be joining the school community. I have been teaching 6th grade math for the past seven years, and I graduated from the University of North Texas. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and engaging classroom where students feel comfortable taking risks, working together, and building a strong understanding of mathematical concepts while growing in confidence. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, staying active, and spending time with my family. I’m also a proud mom of two young children who keep me busy and fill my days with laughter and joy. I am truly looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and connection. I can’t wait to get to know the students and families in our community and work together to make this a successful and memorable year!

From Mrs. Eikelbarner: My husband, David, and I have been married for 33 years and are enjoying life as empty nesters with our three adult children. Outside of school, I love traveling, exploring national parks (23 so far!!), hiking, kayaking, reading, antiquing, and baking. I believe the best educators are lifelong learners, and I look forward to learning and growing alongside this amazing community.
