We have been seeing an increase in wildland fires in our areas, with this we have many members trained as wildland firefighters. The most important way to stay prepared is repetitive training. We are thankful that we have a working relationship with The Boulders at Lake Tyler, that we can use the space to do drills that we would not be able to otherwise.

We are always looking to educate our members and keep up to date on training. We are a First Responder organization with UT EMS, and with this we attend trainings to keep up to date with changes in their protocols. We are very appreciative of their employees that take the time to present this information.

The Whitehouse Volunteer Fire Department was honored to be awarded The VFIS of Texas Health and Safety Grant, the money awarded was to be used to improve the health/safety of members. We were able to purchase Wildland Firefighter facemask/filters and Hero wipes, these will help protect our members on the many wildland fires we encounter. Thank you!!
