Troutdale city offices will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of Labor Day.

The 5-week closure of southbound I-5 at Portland’s Rose Quarter is now a week away.

The closure will be in effect 24/7 for up to five weeks starting September 11 and could cause ripple effects on roads and highways throughout the region.

While Troutdale won’t be directly affected by the closure, expect possible ripple effects on other roads and highways throughout the metro area.

The Good news for drivers coming from the east: I-5 northbound will remain open, and the I-84 westbound connections to both I-5 northbound and southbound will remain open.

If you’re heading east on I-84 over Labor Day weekend, plan for extra travel time. Construction on the new McCord Creek Bridge on I-84 continues to cause delays between Ainsworth State Park and Bonneville Dam.

ICYMI: Oxbow Regional Park is closing on Tuesday, Sept. 8 for 4 – 5 months while crews replace the park's aging water system.

Get your Oxbow fix before Labor Day. As a reminder, Oxbow Regional Park will be temporarily closed starting Sept. 8 for park improvements.

We're replacing the park's water lines so you can have more reliable access to drinking water at the park. Because this project includes heavy machinery and extensive digging on the park's only road, the entire park—including the boat launch and equestrian trail—will be closed. This also means that Salmon Homecoming at Oxbow is canceled this year. If all goes as planned, the park will reopen in January 2027.

The rules that shape how Multnomah County government works are up for review — and you can help shape what comes next.

The County is seeking residents to serve on its 2027–28 Charter Review Committee. The County Charter is essentially our local constitution, guiding everything from the structure of government to how decisions are made.

It’s important that Troutdale and East County have a strong voice in this process, so if you’re eligible to vote and live in Multnomah County, please consider applying.

Applications are due October 1, 2026.

What is the Charter Review Committee?

- It is a group of people who convene every six years to perform a comprehensive study of the Charter.
-The committee reviews the Charter to ensure that the document remains consistent with the community's values and needs.

- The committee can propose Charter amendments that the Board will submit to the voters of Multnomah County to decide via ballot.
